Biodep®ACT probiotic supplement is a product of Zist Darman Mahan Company, containing the probiotic bacterium Bacillus lichenidormis, which is specially formulated for use in industrial poultry.
Bacillus licheniformis is a gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic and motile rod bacterium, which is called this name because of the similarity of the its colonies to lichen.
The most important advantage of using this bacterium as a probiotic is its high ability to produce spores and survive in adverse environmental conditions such as high temperature, inappropriate pH, etc. Also, by producing various types of biologically active substances such as digestive enzymes: lipase, protease, amylase, phytase, etc., this bacterium increases the digestion and absorption of food, increases the weight of poultry and reduces the food conversion rate.
The production of bacteriocin and anti-pathogen peptides suppresses the growth and proliferation of pathogens and thus helps to strengthen the immune system and intestinal health.
Inhibiting the colonization of pathogenic bacteria in the intestine, helping the proliferation of beneficial microorganisms and maintaining the balance of the intestinal microflora are other benefits of using this bacterium in poultry feed.
